The Hamilton Gallery is located on the 5500 block of Harford Road, which is part of the main street area of the Hamilton/Lauraville community. The gallery is an artist operated cooperative with monthly shows featuring the works of members as well as a monthly guest artist. Membership is by jury open to all interested artists who seek to showcase and sell their work and help to maintain and grow the gallery. The Hamilton Gallery exhibits and supports fine art and fine crafts.
The Hamilton Gallery mission is twofold:
- To provide a space where artists can display, sell, and discuss their works of fine art & fine crafts; and
- To encourage artists and community members to learn from each other how to conceive, create, display, appreciate, and sell their works of fine art & fine crafts. Special attention will be given to youth interested in pursuing artistic endeavors.
Exhibiting Artist Membership
Benefits of Hamilton Gallery membership:
- Participation in monthly exhibitions of your new work in the gallery (approximately 6' linear wall space)
- Inclusion in First Friday opening receptions
- Opportunity to exhibit your work as the featured member (monthly)
- Opportunity for artistic growth and community involvement
- Future opportunity to market your work via the Hamilton Arts//Hamilton Gallery website (this benefit of membership is currently under development)
Gallery membership commitment includes:
- Rental fee of $30/month (one month's security deposit and rent paid by the 15th of the prior month)
- Sales of artwork: Gallery maintains a 10% commission, Artist receives 90%
- 4 hours gallery work per month required of each exhibiting artist during established open gallery hours.
- Artist member participation in gallery committee (2-4 hour commitment per month)
- Member artists submit new work on scheduled drop off date for new exhibit installed every month (after 3 months work may be exhibited again)
